Snohomish, WA – FRETLAND, founded by Hillary Grace Fretland is set to release their sophomore LP, Could Have Loved You, via Soundly Music on March 26, 2021. “Do You Think of Me” is the second single to be released from the forthcoming album, and it dives into the painful questions that are asked all too often at the end of a relationship. “I want to understand all parts of me that make me human so that I can share them, and so maybe someone somewhere recognizes themselves as the villain and learns to love themselves anyway.” says Hilary, “There’s so much shame in a failed relationship, we always want to know who’s at fault. It’s never been that simple for me.”
“Do You Think of Me” premiered exclusively via Atwood Magazine
who calls the track
“Fresh, raw, and stirring,” adding that “‘Do You Think of Me’ is nuanced and vulnerable – a poignant, no-nonsense take on chemistry, relationships, and the human condition.”
FRETLAND’s first single, and title track “Could Have Loved You” premiered via Kelly McCartney’s Southern Craft Radio
on Apple Music. The band has amassed a significant following, largely through streaming services, despite having the opportunity to ever tour outside of their home-base region of the pacific northwest due to Covid-19.
After a successful multi-week tour across the Pacific Northwest early 2020, the band was scheduled to head out on an international tour that would bring them across the United States and Europe. Like for so many, those plans changed quickly. FRETLAND ultimately went on to release their debut record without the opportunity to venture much outside of their regional home base. Instead, FRETLAND won the hearts of new fans with their music, and genuine down to earth personalities, eventually nearing a million streams, all without showing face, proving that art will always find a way.
The state of the world and the state of the music industry remains open-ended, and a bit like the Wild West. FRETLAND are pioneers who are on a trip of self-discovery while helping their fanbase and listeners along each of their own self-discovery journeys.
So, cozy up with a nice blanket, a roaring fire, and your favorite whiskey or cider, and settle in with FRETLAND’s new single, “Could Have Loved You,” available on DSPs now.
