CULTURE IN THE MOUNTAIN LANDSCAPE

Verbier Art Summit presents two days of art, music, walking and e-biking in and around Verbier on 12 and 13 August, and the Verbier Festival is a proud partner.

Day one of activities begins with a talk between the Summit’s Academy Director Jean-Paul Felley and visual artist Valentin Carron, winner of the Canton du Valais’ Prix Culturel 2020. This followed by gondola ride up the mountain to Ruinettes, followed by a curated walk through Verbier 3-D Foundation’s ‘The Great Pause’ exhibition to la Croix-de-Coeur. At 2,168 meters, this spot provides an exceptional panorama between the Combins and Mont Blanc in the south and the Bernese Alps in the north. The guided walk continues with a forest route leading to the charming little chapel of St-Christophe, where this open air performance of Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony (arranged for string sextet) takes place.

Concert-goers are also invited to meet at 14:30 at the Verbier Tourism Office on 12 August for a guided walk to Chapelle St-Christophe.  This easy walk takes approximately 45 minutes and includes a slight incline to reach the concert site.

Please remember to bring your blanket or festival chair, a bottle of water, at hat and sunscreen. And of course, the wearing of masks is recommended.
